COMPANY OVERVIEW

Boro Medical, P.C. was established in 1954 to provide medical care to Labor organizations and their members in New York City area, Westchester County and New Jersey. Initially, Boro Medical's patient base consisted only of members of self-insured unions and Medicare recipients.
Today, Boro Medical, P.C. is a multi-specialty group practice with nine locations in Manhattan, Long Island City, South Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, South Westchester in Yonkers (Cross County Shopping Center), Elizabeth, New Jersey and Union City, New Jersey. Its patient base now includes HMO's, PPO's and commercial insurance as well as self-insured unions and Medicare. Boro Medical also owns and operates two full-time Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Centers that provide primary medical services on a fee-for-service basis to Medicaid recipients. Boro Medical has also contracted with several Medicaid Managed Care companies to provide Medicaid Managed Care.
Robert J. Aquino, M.D. is the President of Boro Medical, Girish Desai M.D. is the Clinical Director and Reno G. DiScala M.D. is the Director of Quality Improvement.
The medical staff is comprised of Primary Care Physicians and Specialists, the majority of which are board certified in their respective areas of expertise. Specialties include Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Allergy, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurology / Pain Management, Vascular, Psychiatry and Rehabilitative Medicine.
Boro Medical also utilizes physician extenders such as Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Family Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants to provide assessment and medical care, education and outreach services, in addition to the traditional medical services provided.
Hospital affiliations include all major local community hospitals and major tertiary healthcare institutions.
